All About Neurodivergence
2024 – Ongoing | Zine Series
Overview
A growing zine series designed to make neurodivergent experiences clear, accurate, and approachable. Each issue breaks down a single topic, like ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, or Dysgraphia, using friendly visuals and simple explanations. The series blends my design practice with my lived ND experience to create educational tools anyone can understand.
Process
The project began after discovering zines as accessible learning tools in a book-making class. I research each topic through Google Scholar, peer discussions, and community spaces, translating findings into clean, engaging layouts. Every zine uses a consistent typographic system based on Eina 01, traced with my own handwriting for a human and neurodivergent-authentic touch. Layouts shift by topic but stay cohesive through clear hierarchy and infographic-inspired structure.
Format & Tools
Created in Procreate and InDesign, each zine is printed on 8.5×11 paper and folded into a 14-page format designed for easy sharing, printing, and accessibility.
Impact
The zines have been shared at college events, conventions, and libraries, where readers often express excitement and recognition, proof of how needed clear ND education is.
Reflection & Future Vision
This series cemented my belief in design as an empathetic educational tool. My goal is to publish all 21 planned issues as free resources online and distribute them to schools, libraries, and clinics to increase public understanding of neurodivergence.
