Overview
Neuro Navigation is a design-driven organization providing tools, resources, and community support for the neurodivergent population and their families.
Originally created as a branding concept in a university course, the project evolved into a real organization dedicated to reshaping how society understands and supports neurodivergent experiences. What began as a class assignment transformed into a long-term mission to create the kind of resource my younger self, and my mother, needed when navigating education and disability systems.
Brand Identity
The brand embodies warmth, belonging, and optimism. Its visual language is built around the message “You are not alone.”
I designed the logo, color palette, typography, iconography, and all mockups, promotional imagery, and video ads. Every decision was made through the lens of accessibility and clarity: typography was chosen for generous spacing and readability, colors were tested for contrast, and even spatial layouts—both digital and physical, were designed to feel approachable and sensory-friendly.
Process
Neuro Navigation’s design system began with foundational research into the challenges faced by neurodivergent learners and their families. The result was a cohesive identity adaptable across multiple mediums, website, print materials, merchandise, and app prototypes. My creative process involved developing not only the look and feel of the brand, but its strategic communication structure:
-
Designing tools and learning resources that translate complex information into digestible visuals
-
Producing accessible marketing materials, including video ads and infographics
-
Prototyping an educational app that promotes independent learning and self-advocacy
Impact
What started as a solo design exploration has grown into a community-rooted initiative. Neuro Navigation has:
-
Partnered with organizations such as AG Con, Disability IN, Green Print Partners, the City of Milwaukee, Joy of Neurodiversity, and multiple universities (MIAD, MOSE, UWM)
-
Published and distributed four educational books, now housed in Wisconsin libraries and schools
-
Hired and mentored neurodivergent interns, fostering an inclusive creative environment
-
Participated in conferences, podcasts, and public speaking events advocating for accessible design
Reflection & Future Vision
Neuro Navigation continues to grow as both a brand and a movement. My next goals include launching the mobile app, establishing an international presence in Portugal, and expanding our library of neurodivergent resources.
This project represents more than a design challenge it’s a lifelong commitment to designing with empathy, accessibility, and impact at the heart of every decision.
