Overview
A collaborative infographic project exploring how Generation Alpha perceives and interacts with environmental data. Designed for a young, neutral-gender audience, the piece aimed to make complex climate information—specifically rising surface temperatures—understandable and visually engaging through playful illustration and color storytelling.
Process
Working within a five-person team, I helped develop the project’s data-driven foundation. My role included brainstorming core concepts, collecting and cleaning data for three graphs, and designing the first graph’s structure. I also created all speech bubble content for the character “Greeny,” developed in Excel before passing final assets to my teammates for refinement. The visual tone, inspired by shows like Bluey and My Melody, reflects Gen Alpha’s preference for friendly, character-based learning tools and soft, colorful aesthetics that encourage curiosity and connection.
Outcome
The final infographic successfully merged educational data with an approachable tone, helping communicate the urgency of environmental awareness in a language accessible to children. It demonstrated how visual storytelling and collaboration can bridge gaps between research, design, and learning.
Reflection
This project taught me the value of visual empathy—understanding how young audiences interpret design elements differently than adults. Collaborating with others also helped refine my communication and data organization skills, preparing me for future UX and information design challenges.
